Overview
QuotaPath recalculates earnings automatically in the background when underlying data changes. In most cases, earnings shown in the app are already up to date when you log in or navigate between pages.
To maintain fast and consistent performance, pages display the most recently calculated earnings values rather than waiting for recalculation to complete.
This ensures that earnings remain accurate while preventing calculations from slowing down the app, even in large or complex workspaces.
When are earnings recalculated?
Earnings are recalculated whenever something occurs that affects their values, most commonly when:
CRM updates are pulled in through a source data sync
Recalculation also occurs when:
A deal is manually added, edited, or removed
Plan rule or component updates
Overrides are created or edited
General plan-level changes are made
If no changes have occurred, QuotaPath continues displaying the most recently calculated earnings values.
What happens after I make a change?
In most cases, earnings shown in the app are already current. This section applies specifically when you’ve just made a change that impacts earnings while actively using the app.
When you perform an action that affects earnings (such as editing a deal or adding an override), recalculation runs automatically in the background.
During that time:
You may briefly see an “Earnings updating…” banner message indicating updates are in progress
Pages continue to load and remain usable, but may temporarily display previously calculated earnings values while recalculation completes
Once recalculation finishes:
You’ll be notified when updated values are ready, and the “Earnings updating…” banner will transition to a refresh prompt
Use the refresh option or refresh your browser to view the latest earnings
If you make multiple updates in quick succession, earnings may take a moment to finish updating. Once complete, you’ll see a prompt to refresh.
This behavior is expected and ensures earnings recalculation does not block page performance.
How will I know when updated earnings are ready?
If recalculation completes while you’re actively in the app:
A banner will appear indicating that updated earnings are available
The Earnings Calculation indicator in the global header will display an alert
To view the updated values, click the refresh option in the banner or from the global header. A browser refresh will also pull in the latest values.
Note: Navigating between pages does not automatically display newly recalculated values. Use the refresh option or a browser refresh to load the latest earnings.
