How to Build Teams

This article walks you through how to build and manage teams within QuotaPath. Teams allow you to control which deals, plans, and earnings are visible to managers. Teams also let you build attainment leaderboards for managers and reps, giving them visibility into overall team performance.

Navigate to the Teams Page

Head over to the Teams page. From here, you can see any team that has already been created. You can edit teams by clicking into the team itself, add members to a specific team, and use the Managers tab to add additional managers.

Create a New Team

  1. Head up to the top right and click Create Team.

  2. Add team members individually, search for specific team members, or select by plan. For example, to build a sales team, use the AE plan to select everyone on that plan for the year.

  3. Once your members are selected, hit Next. Give the team a name and select a color to represent it within QuotaPath.

  4. Optionally set team assignment dates. These come into play with roll-up plans — you can set a start date, but you do not necessarily need an end date for team members on this specific team.

  5. Click Save.

Add Managers

Next, you can add managers to the team. When you add managers, the only people shown will be admins or team managers. If you do not see a specific user you would expect to see, head to the Members page and update their role.

Create a Leaderboard

You can also create a leaderboard for the team. Managers with full or standard permissions will be able to view both the earnings and attainment leaderboards. Managers with limited permissions will only see the attainment leaderboard.

  1. Click Create Leaderboard. Give the leaderboard a name and select a field type.

  2. Select a specific plan, then choose which components, quotas, or fields to bring into the leaderboard. If you choose a shared quota or specific component, any quota will be displayed on the leaderboard. If you choose a shared field name, you will not see quotas displayed.

  3. Hit Next. You can give the team a goal that will be visible if you like — the goal can stay the same with a time frame, or it can change later. You can also adjust the attainment index to set what is considered red, yellow, or green.

  4. Hit Save and your leaderboard is created.

Add or Remove Team Members Later

If you ever need to add an additional team member to the team, click to add them and hit Save. After adding a new team member, define their source by clicking the pencil icon so their data shows up on the leaderboard. You can also remove team members the same way.

View the Attainment Leaderboard

Head over to the Attainment page. You will now have a tab for individual attainment as well as a leaderboard. Click the Leaderboard tab to view the leaderboard you just set up by filtering on it. You can also filter by date.

On the attainment leaderboard, managers and admins will see both quotas and attainment, while reps will only see attainment. At the top, you will see the total team attainment for the time period you are filtered on. Scroll down to see individual attainment. Click into any individual to see the deals that roll up to them and their close dates. You can click into any deal to go to the deal details page.

View the Earnings Leaderboard

On the Earnings page, admins and team managers with at least standard permissions can view the earnings leaderboard. You will have a Team tab. Click into the Team tab to filter on a specific team and date range.

At the top, you will see the total earnings for the team and how each team member earned for the filtered period. Click into any individual to see the deals that rolled up and what they earned on those specific deals.

Adding Multiple Leaderboards

Teams can have multiple leaderboards. If there are other metrics you want to track, you can add additional leaderboards for any team.

That is how you build and manage teams in QuotaPath.
