How to Override Deal Values
This article walks through how admins can override deal values in QuotaPath. Overriding deal values can be helpful when you need to make an adjustment to quota relief or earnings and the adjustment cannot be made directly in your CRM.
When you override a deal value in QuotaPath, it only overrides that deal record directly in QuotaPath — it does not push back to your CRM.
Find the Deal
The easiest way to find a deal to override is to go into the search bar. You can paste a deal name or start typing it, and then click View All Deals. This will take you to the Deals page.
Override the Value
From here, there are a couple of different ways to override the deal value:
Click the kebab menu next to the deal and select Override Deal Value. From there, you can override the value and add an adjustment note explaining why it is being overridden.
Click into the deal itself and go to the deal details page. From the deal details page, click the kebab menu in the Deal Value section, then click Override Deal.
Make your adjustment and leave a note explaining why you are making the change. Once your adjustment and note are entered, click Save.
When this saves, the deal value updates and a small icon appears. This icon shows throughout QuotaPath to both admins and users so they know the value has been overridden. Hover over the icon to see the note.
What Happens After You Override
Overriding the deal value will also update the earnings based on the change. Depending on the comp plan setup, it can also update earnings for other deals if you have decreased or increased quota attainment on that deal.
If the earnings had already been approved at this point, this would flag a discrepancy, either positive or negative, depending on how you are adjusting the deal value. If everything looks good, you can go ahead and approve the deal.
