Requirements
Before you begin, make sure the following are in place:
QuotaPath plan: Available to all QuotaPath customers (Essential, Growth, and Premium).
Integration setup: Your HubSpot integration must be connected to your QuotaPath workspace and mapped to your compensation plans.
Admin enablement: App Objects are included in QuotaPath’s HubSpot integration; however, an Admin must enable the sync for your workspace before data will appear in HubSpot.
Version: Available for workspaces using QuotaPath’s new data engine for HubSpot Integration version 2.0.
Permissions: Viewing earnings data is controlled directly by HubSpot permissions, and is not affected by QuotaPath roles. Make sure the right users have access in HubSpot.
Supported Features
Earnings App Object
Once enabled, the Earnings object in HubSpot includes the following properties:
Earnings Properties:
QuotaPath Deal Name
QuotaPath Deal Date
QuotaPath Deal ID
QuotaPath Deal Stage
QuotaPath Component
QuotaPath Plan
QuotaPath Deal URL
Earnings Amount
Associations:
Associate earnings with deals
User Permissions
Once an admin enables QuotaPath Earnings to sync into HubSpot, all access to Earnings data in HubSpot is fully controlled by HubSpot permissions, not QuotaPath roles.
What does (and does not) control access
HubSpot permissions determine who can view Earnings App Object records
QuotaPath roles do not affect visibility in HubSpot
For example:
A HubSpot Super Admin who is not a QuotaPath user can still view all Earnings
A HubSpot Super Admin who is a rep/member in QuotaPath user can still view all Earnings
How viewing “their quotapath earnings” only works
(The below image refers to permissions for App Objects within HubSpot)
You can view this in HubSpot by navigating to Settings > Users and Teams > and clicking to Edit Permissions for a particular user
Navigate to the Access tab at the top of the page and on the left hand side, you will see the option for App objects
You can learn more about viewing or modifying HubSpot permissions in their help article to Manage user permissions
By default, HubSpot’s App object permissions are configured so users can only view records they own.
This is enforced by:
QuotaPath assigning each Earnings record a corresponding deal owner in HubSpot
HubSpot will look at the QuotaPath deal owner defined (for the Earnings record) and match it to a corresponding deal owner defined in HubSpot
Because QuotaPath supports only one deal owner per deal, each Earnings record can only be owned by a single HubSpot user.
If a corresponding HubSpot user cannot be found for the QuotaPath deal owner, the Earnings record will not be synced
If email addresses for the owner field differ (for example, in QuotaPath the user is [email protected] but in HubSpot the user is [email protected], QuotaPath will use the information on the member alignment page to match users
Reviewing HubSpot permissions
If users are unable to see (or are seeing too much of) Earnings data in HubSpot:
Review the user’s HubSpot permissions
Confirm they have appropriate access to App objects
Ensure ownership rules align with your intended visibility model
Important notes
QuotaPath will flag detected permission mismatches before syncing (see below in "How to Set Up the Earnings App Object")
All permission changes must be made directly in HubSpot
QuotaPath cannot override HubSpot’s access controls
How to Set Up the Earnings App Object
Step 1: Connect HubSpot Integration
In QuotaPath, go to Integrations
Click Connect on the HubSpot integration
Re-Authenticate your HubSpot account and map fields as needed
At this stage, you will be able to see the Earnings object within HubSpot, but no data will appear until a QuotaPath Admin enables the sync to push data to HubSpot (below)
Step 2: Admin Enable Earnings Sync
From Integrations, click Manage on the HubSpot Integration and navigate to the Manage Source tab
Under Sync Settings, toggle Sync Earnings Data to HubSpot ON
Review any flagged discrepancies and adjust as needed within HubSpot, and then type the number of users noted in order to confirm and continue with the sync
You can click the carat to expand the number of discrepancies and view details
This will trigger an immediate sync of earnings data to HubSpot
Note: After this initial sync, Earnings data will sync automatically twice daily at 5 AM and 5 PM ET
Step 3: Customize HubSpot View
Admins can configure which Earnings properties display in HubSpot beyond the default HubSpot fields
Optionally, associate Earnings with Deals to tie commissions to specific HubSpot deals
Step 3: Disabling App Objects
Admins can disable the Earnings App Object at any time by navigating back to Sync Settings within QuotaPath
Toggle Sync Earnings Data to HubSpot OFF, and confirm that you want to disable the sync
Earnings data will be removed from HubSpot and will no longer continue to sync once confirmed
Note that this may impact any reports or workflows that were previously using Earnings data
