How to install the QuotaPath Salesforce app (push earnings into SF)
Integrating Opportunity Splits into QuotaPath
The first step to use Opportunity Split data in QuotaPath is to integrate your Opportunity Split object from Salesforce into QuotaPath. To do this, follow the steps below:
In QuotaPath, click on the integrations tab in the bottom left.
If you have not connected Salesforce already, follow steps a and b below. If you have, skip to the third step:
Click Connect on the Salesforce connection card and follow the steps to authenticate Salesforce.
Once you authenticate, you will be prompted to select your objects to sync. Be sure Opportunity Splits are selected, along with any other object that you will need to calculate commissions.
If you are adding opportunity splits to an existing integration, click Manage on your Salesforce connection card. Then click on the Objects tab.
Edit the object list, find and select Opportunity Splits and click Save and Sync.
Mapping to the Opportunity Split object
For every component that may have a relevant split percentage and/or amount, you should map that component to opportunity splits, as opposed to opportunities.
Once you have integrated Opportunity Split records into QuotaPath and the sync has completed, you will be able to map to the Opportunity Split object data as you would any other object.
When you map to the Opportunity Split object, you will also be able to use all of the fields from the associated Opportunity record, since the two objects are natively joined by Salesforce. For example, you could easily choose Opportunity: Name or Opportunity: Stage in the mapping modal as your ideal name field without any additional work to enable the connection between objects.
To ensure that you are attributing the right amount of revenue or deal value to each person, be sure to map the opportunity split amount to your deal amount field in QuotaPath. The opportunity split amount field is already applying the split percentage to each owner.
If the amount is incorrect on the opportunity split record, but the percentage share of the opportunity is correct, you will need to ask your CSM or AM to help you create a computed field to apply the split percentage to the correct opportunity amount field on the opportunity object
What about Opportunities with no split?
in Salesforce, if you are using opportunity splits, an opportunity split record is created for every opportunity, regardless of a split actually occurring. For every opportunity with just one owner and no actual split, you will have an Opportunity Split record that shows one person with 100% ownership. Therefore, it functions exactly the same in the single owner circumstance as it would if you mapped just to the opportunity record.
