See your updated commission, find earlier and later payouts, and understand when each amount was scheduled.
This article is specifically intended for members trying to understand how to view and break down their earnings and payouts.
If your compensation plan includes a retroactive accelerator, reaching a higher attainment tier can increase the commission on deals you closed earlier in the applicable period.
For example, a deal may initially earn $1,000. After you reach an accelerator, its total earnings increase to $1,500. If the original $1,000 was already paid, the additional $500 may be approved and scheduled for a later payout (sometimes months apart).
To understand what happened, you will review two separate things:
Earnings: How much the deal earned on your plan components
Payouts: Which amounts have been scheduled or recorded as paid, and on which dates.
An increase in earnings does not mean the additional amount has already been approved, paid or scheduled to be paid.
Where should I look?
First, the best place to view all the details for a given deal, including the earnings breakdown, the approval status, the deal metadata and history, and all payouts, is the Deal details page. This is the page you will be taken to anytime you click on the deal name anywhere in the platform. Each deal has its own dedicated deal details page that is specific to the combination of the deal owner and source record.
The deal details page has cards, or sections, for:
Deal value
Earnings
Approval status and history
Deal history
Deal information
Earnings breakdown
Payouts
Ledger entries (for admins only)
So, you can clearly see exactly why an amount was earned and then the payouts that have or have not been scheduled for those earnings. For more information, view this article

How much was scheduled originally, and how much was scheduled later? | Payouts → Resolved tab will show you how much has been paid or scheduled to be paid, and when |

The Earnings page shows calculation details, while Payouts separates outstanding amounts from scheduled and completed payout records. Earnings show up on the Earnings page regardless of their approval or scheduled-for-payout status.
1. Review the deal’s current earnings
Start here to understand the updated commission calculation.
Open Earnings.
Use the plan, component, and date filters to find the deal. Include the deal’s original earnings period—not only the month you reached the accelerator.
Find the deal in the Closed/Won table.
click on the deal row to expand the deal and open its Earnings Detail View.
Review the component amounts, values, rates, and applicable tiers.
Click the ⓘ icon next to the earned amount for an explanation of how QuotaPath calculated the earnings. You can also use the deal’s three-dot menu to view the earnings summary. These viewing options are available to Members.
Will base commission and the accelerator appear separately?
That depends on how your plan is built.
Separate components: If base commission and the accelerator are separate components, the component breakdown can help you distinguish their contributions.
A higher rate within one component: If the accelerator changes the rate on the same component, review the rates and tiers in the detail view. Don’t expect a separate component named “Accelerator.”
Use these views to understand the current calculation—not as proof of what you received in an earlier paycheck. The deal’s updated earnings total is not necessarily the amount of its latest payout.
2. Find the original and additional payouts
To see the amounts and dates recorded for payment:
Open Payouts.
Select the Resolved tab. This is the Member view of scheduled payout records (scheduled in past and future).
Filter to the relevant plan and component, then locate the deal in the table.
Set the Deal dates filter wide enough to include the original deal.
Set the Payout dates filter to include both the original payout and any later adjustment.
Review the individual payout amounts, payout dates, and statuses. You can click on the small note icon in the row to see the payout details, or use the three-dot menu on the far right side of the deal payout record's row and click "View Related Payouts" for the full payout details breakdown.
Keep both date filters in mind: A deal from January can have an additional payout scheduled in March. Filtering to March deal dates could hide the January deal you’re trying to review.
If your commission was paid in installments, you may see several payout records rather than one original payment and one accelerator payment. Compare records for the same deal and component, and include every relevant installment.
What do “Scheduled” and “Paid” mean?
Scheduled: The payout date is in the future.
Paid: The payout date has been reached.
You'll see these statuses on the payouts page on the export tab QuotaPath’s status is based on the payout date. If you need to confirm when funds actually arrived in your paycheck or bank account, check your payroll record or contact your company’s payroll team. Even if QuotaPath displays a paid status, there are still actions required by your admin/team to ensure checks go out.
3. Check whether additional earnings are still awaiting payout
If the Earnings page shows the higher amount but you cannot find a corresponding payout in Resolved, open the Earned tab on the Payouts page.
Depending on your company’s settings, you may also see Owed, Eligible, or Payable terminology. Additional earnings may still need approval, may not yet meet payout-eligibility requirements, or may not yet have been scheduled by your company.
If you cannot find the amount, ask your compensation administrator to confirm its approval, eligibility, and payout timing. Members do not need to change the plan or schedule the payment themselves.
4. Compare your payout statements
If your company uses Payout Statements:
Select Statements under Commissions.
Open the statement for the original payout period (if available).
Review the scheduled payout amount, plan and component breakdown, and any administrator notes.
Open the later statement to review the period containing the additional payout.
Use the statement’s PDF/print option if you want to keep a copy.
Statements reflect payout data frozen when your administrator publishes them. A later change to live earnings does not automatically rewrite an existing statement. Your administrator can publish a corrected version if needed.
Statements are period summaries, not a deal-by-deal payment ledger. “Deals Contributing” is a count, and a component total may include several deals. Use Payouts → Resolved to trace an individual deal’s amounts and dates. Statements also may not separate base commission from an accelerator if both belong to the same component.
Example: tracing a retroactive increase
This is an illustrative example. Your plan and payment schedule may differ.
Event | Amount | Where to check |
Deal initially earns commission | $1,000 | Earnings page, or Deal details page |
Original payout is scheduled | $1,000 | Resolved payout record. Payouts page, Resolved tab. |
A retroactive accelerator increases total earnings | $1,500 total | Earnings page, or Deal details page |
Additional commission is approved and scheduled | $500 additional | Resolved payout record. Click note icon or the three-dot menu to view the payout details that will show you both payout amounts and dates. Payouts page, Resolved tab. |
The $1,500 shown in Earnings is the updated total, not another $1,500 on top of the original $1,000.
In this example, the additional $500 can be identified by comparing the original payout with the later payout. However, do not assume every later payout is an accelerator payment: it could also be an installment, an eligibility release, or another adjustment.
What if I still can’t separate the base and accelerated amounts?
QuotaPath often will not label each payout as “base commission” or “retroactive accelerator.” this is just due to how your plan is configured. When both amounts are calculated within one component, you may need to compare the current earnings calculation with the individual payout records.
For help reconciling the difference, send your compensation administrator:
The deal name or link.
The plan and component.
The original and updated earnings amounts, if known.
The payout amounts and dates you found.
The amount you expected from the accelerator.
You can also flag the deal from its three-dot menu on the Earnings page to raise a question about the calculation.
