This article walks through how to resolve discrepancies in QuotaPath. For more information on what causes a discrepancy and when and where they appear, see our Discrepancies Overview.
Step 1: Investigate and confirm the discrepancy
The easiest way to dig in is to click on the name of the flagged deal. This opens the Deal details page in a new tab. From there you can view the deal’s history and see what changed, like deal value, stage etc.
Step 2: Resolve
In this step, you have 3 options:
Override deal value and/or earnings
Restart Approval
Override Deal Value and/or Earnings: On the Deal details page, which you reach by clicking on a deal name, the deal details card (top center) has a three-dot menu that will allow you to override the deal value and recalculate earnings. You would then approve the recalculated earnings on the Approvals page. The Earnings card in the top right also has a three-dot menu that will allow you to override the earnings. This will not change the deal value, and then you will approve the new earnings on the approvals page. Use this option if the newly calculated amount is not correct but the correct amount is different from the originally approved amount.
Restart approval: When viewing discrepancies on the approvals page, each row will have an action to restart approval. Clicking restart will move the deal down to the standard approvals table, where you can then approve as usual. Use this option if the New earnings value flagged by the discrepancy is correct.
Dismissed Discrepancy: If you are going to stick with the original approved amount and do not want to approve any change in earnings, you can dismiss the discrepancy by clicking the three-dot menu to the far right of the deal data in the discrepancies table and selecting Dismiss. This effectively creates an override of the earnings to the originally approved amount. See here for more information on dismissing discrepancies.
After resolution
Once handled, the discrepancy clears from the Approvals page and from your homepage tasks. Refresh the page to confirm it no longer shows as flagged. If you have dismissed the discrepancy, no future changes to the deal will result in a new discrepancy.
